I’m glad NCSoft is taking the time to release patch notes for upcoming patches. It’s a lot easier to see what kind of changes they’re making so you can prepare for them.

You can take a look at the 1.5.1 patch notes and see what’s going to change. They didn’t give a definitive date for this release, because it’s all subject to change, but hopefully it goes live soon.

I’ve been noticing an increase in spam lately, but thankfully Aion has released a new patch this morning that addresses the spam. Although, their conventions seem a little odd and slightly burdensome to the actual playing community.

There seems to be a common requirement theme of “level 10″, or Daeva as I will refer to it. You must be a Daeva to chat in any channel, send whispers, or send in-game mail. I do believe these changes will significantly reduce the amount of spam sent in channels and whispers because most spammers won’t level to 10. But this means regular players can’t chat with each other until level 10, unless they’re grouped or standing next to each other. But I suppose it makes some sense that only Daevas should have the power of extended chat.

Aion released a small patch within the last 24 hours that obliterated spammers. Now instead of receiving spam in chat every tenth of a second, I receive spam.. well, never. We all know how bad that spam was. It even left a bad taste in my mouth, but at least it’s gone now. HUGE SUCCESS!

Well the week long beta (that turned into an open beta) is over… ‘fraid it’s been so since Sunday. But I did get to play and level an Asmodian Assassin to level 14!

Today, September 6, the Aion Open Beta begins and will run through September 13! Be ready to login and play at 9 AM PDT!

I encourage everyone to download the open beta client if you haven’t already. And check out the patch notes to see what new content has been added such as new areas, new instances, new skills, new quests, and even new character customizations. They even added the ability to zoom in and out on your character on the character creation screen (FINALLY). But best of all, Brian Knox had announced that the open beta will have ALL English terminology and content westernized!

Don’t miss out on the open beta! Videos are all nice to watch and everything when you want to see content, but you can get a MUCH better sense of the game by actually playing it!
